Whenever people hear the word "press", these are things that first come into their minds!
However, in these fraught times, we should ask ourselves the questions, "Are they still what it is?" "Do they get still do their job as listed above?" "Do they still amount to anything?" "Is it still a fundamental right?"
These questions are valid and should encourage discourse. With the Philippines placing 134th in Reporters Without Borders in World Press Freedom Index in 2019, signalling a lower free press due to alleged repression on journalists, is it time to be alarmed?
With these questions in mind, what has now become of the press?
